Canada holds 11th spot in world ranking
Canada sits in 11th place with 1,942 points, 21 points back of England. Canada had previously been six points back of England, but Canada lost two points while England gained 13 points. Canada’s only loss in the past quarter was a 1:3 loss to England in the 2009 Cyprus Women’s Cup final. At the top of the standings, USA remains ranked first overall with 2,195 points. Brazil slipped into second place ahead of Germany while Sweden remained fourth and Korea DPR remained fifth. Denmark (up one spot), Japan (up two spots), France (no change), Norway (down three spots) and England round out the top 10. The FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings looks at each country’s international results from the last four years. The ranking takes into account the result, the importance of the match, the strength of the opponent, the regional strength, the time period, and the number of matches per year.
